In order to ensure that the railway construction in our city meets the needs of the leap-forward development of the whole province's railways, the Provincial Railway Office entrusts the Provincial Transportation Research Institute Co., Ltd. to carry out special planning and research on railway hubs in our city. The scope of this planning study includes the existing and planned railway lines and stations in the railway hub in Xinyi area. The plan combines the introduction of double-track electrification (Xinyi-Huai 'an section, Jiaoxin line) and new line (Xu Lian Passenger Dedicated Line). On the basis of capacity adaptability analysis of railway hub lines, stations and other equipment, according to the principles of "separation of passenger and freight, centralized freight, smooth lines, capacity matching, reasonable division of labor, compliance with urban regulations, combination of distance and moderate advance", rational planning will be carried out step by step. According to the plan, Xinyi Railway Hub will eventually form a pattern of "one passenger, one cargo and one marshalling" with Xinyi Station as a pure passenger station, Xinyi West Station as a regional marshalling station and Xinyi South Station as a freight station.

At the report meeting, the heads of planning, transportation, development and reform commission, railway station and other units who attended the meeting respectively demonstrated the overall planning of Xinyi Railway Hub in detail, and put forward opinions and suggestions in combination with the actual situation of our city.

Vivian, member of the Standing Committee of Xuzhou Municipal Committee and secretary of Xinyi Municipal Committee, pointed out at the meeting that the planning unit has done a lot of work, and the research results and planning scheme meet the actual and long-term development requirements of Xinyi. Regarding the further improvement of planning, Vivian pointed out that the study of existing railway hubs depends on whether there are sufficient conditions and foundations for land, water, passenger and cargo transportation. There are three expressways, three national highways and three provincial highways in our city. The waterways include the Grand Canal and the Xindai Canal, which are adjacent to Lianyungang. With the rapid development of economy, the passenger and freight volume of our city is increasing day by day. We must firmly grasp the opportunity to make Xinyi's transportation hub move towards the high-speed rail era and the ocean era.
