This is a highly engineering project, which comes from the production practice of new fighters in China. From scratch, Wang Qiang compiled a program for calculating the three-dimensional flow field of complex wing-body assembly by using the finite basic solution method commonly used abroad, and analyzed and calculated the favorable interference and unfavorable interference of the interaction between the flow field of wing-body assembly and external stores, which can reduce the cruise resistance of the aircraft by about 2%, which is equivalent to increasing the flight range by 50 kilometers. According to its characteristics, Academician Li suggested that he join the research group of "Thermal Undercurrent of Launch Vehicle" as the research direction of the doctor. Under the careful guidance of Academician Li Chunxuan and Professor Zhao Heshu, Wang Qiang began the research work of "Calculation method of bottom resistance of launch vehicle", focusing on the calculation method of bottom resistance of the next generation large launch vehicle in China and the transportation system between heaven and earth. In order to explore the problem of excessive estimation of the bottom resistance of similar rockets at home and abroad, Wang Qiang consulted a large number of materials, made numerous theoretical calculations and analyses, designed a very practical calculation program for numerical simulation on the computer, and finally found the crux of the problem.
Calculating the chemical reaction of rocket underflow requires a lot of knowledge such as chemical reaction kinetics and non-equilibrium thermodynamics. Therefore, Wang Qiang studied these two subjects and other related basic knowledge, and successfully calculated the bottom resistance of launch vehicle including chemical reaction.
