The Historical Development of Dafeng Street
In 3 16 BC, the state of Qin destroyed Shu and established Chengdu County in Chengdu. From Qin dynasty to Tang dynasty, Dafeng area belonged to Chengdu county Guo. During the Song and Yuan Dynasties, there were Can Cong Town and Xishi Township in Dafeng, Wang Jia Township, Shaqiao Township and Yuxi Township in Ming Dynasty, all of which were concentrated in Can Cong Town, and Can Cong Town was under the jurisdiction of Chengdu County. After the war in the late Ming and early Qing Dynasties, Can Cong Town began to be depressed, and then Chongyi Bridge rose to replace Can Cong Town. Chongyi Bridge originated from the first wave of immigrants in the late Yuan Dynasty and early Ming Dynasty, and flourished in the second wave of immigrants in the early Qing Dynasty. Chongyi Bridge is still under the jurisdiction of Chengdu County after its establishment. 1952 Chengdu County was revoked, and Dafeng (formerly Chongyi Township) was transferred to Xinfan County, which was under the jurisdiction of Wenjiang District. 1965 Dafeng (formerly Chongyi Township) and Xinfan County are included in Xindu County. 1986 Dafeng was assigned to Chengdu with Xindu County.

In the Qing Dynasty, immigrants built streets and lanes on the banks of Furong Island. At that time, more than ten ditches crossed the streets and lanes, and the villagers either donated money or invested in the construction of wooden bridges and stone bridges. There is a Chongyi Bridge in the street, and people named it a place name. Later, the place name of Chongyi Bridge became famous. During the period of 1959, Tian Jiaying, deputy director of the General Office of the Central Committee, made an investigation in Chongyi Bridge, and saw that the local people had a very difficult life under the influence of natural disasters and bragging. In order to encourage everyone to overcome difficulties and win a bumper harvest, Tian Jiaying proposed to change "Chongyi" to "Dafeng", meaning to win a bumper harvest. Approved by the members' congress and the county government, "Chongyi" was renamed "Dafeng". From Dafeng People's Commune, Dafeng Township and Dafeng Town to Dafeng Sub-district Office, the title of "Dafeng" has been used to this day.

Dafeng was originally named Chongyi Bridge. Tian Jiaying, the secretary of Comrade Mao Zedong, changed Chongyi Bridge to Dafeng on 1959, which means "bumper harvest". In 2004, with the approval of 10 provincial government, Dafeng was officially changed from a town to a street management model. Dafeng has a long history, simple folk customs, developed industry and commerce, with industry as the mainstay and commerce as the supplement. Dafeng people came out of the fields and workshops, and created a thriving land with diligence and wisdom, like a bright pearl, attracting the attention of the world and Chinese and foreign investors.
