Brief introduction of American society of civil engineers
ASCE (American Society of Civil Engineers) was founded in 1852, and has a history of more than 50 years. It is the oldest national association of professional engineers in the United States. ASCE has become a global leader in civil engineering, serving nearly 159 countries and having nearly140,000 professional technicians. ASCE is also the largest civil engineering publishing organization in the world, publishing more than 50,000 pages of publications every year, including 30 professional and technical journals, books, meeting minutes, committee reports, practice manuals, standards and monographs. In order to encourage engineers to share more information, ASCE has reached cooperation agreements with 65 civil engineering societies in other countries.
