How did peanuts originate?
Peanut originated in Brazil, and China may also be one of the origins of peanut. 1962, four carbonized peanuts were found in the primitive social site in xiushui county, Jiangxi Province, one of which was 1 1mm long, 8mm wide and 6mm thick. Therefore, the history of peanut cultivation in China dates back at least 4,000 years. However, according to historical records, peanuts were introduced into China from Nanyang Islands around the turn of15-16th century. At first, it was only planted in coastal provinces, and later it was widely promoted. 1503 "Changshu County Records" contains: "(Peanut) was planted in March, the vine is not very long, and the common cloud flower fell to the ground, but was born in the soil, hence the name." At present, peanuts are widely planted all over China, especially in Shandong, Henan, Sichuan and Hebei.
