If it has a history of 2200 years since the Western Han Dynasty, the origin of the historical name should be 2600-3000 years: according to the county annals and historical records of the Ming Dynasty, "Datong Mountain is twenty-five miles northwest of the county seat, and the old annals say that it is a place where Liu made money" and "at the foot of Shandong, there is a small one. Tongshan is called Tongshan because it produces copper. Later, a market town was formed in Shannan, along which Tongshan Commune was named. After the Revolution of 1911, due to the establishment of district and township organizations, this area was often under the jurisdiction of Jiuli Township. 1949 After liberation, Tongshan Township was established, belonging to Yuetang District. 1950 is under the jurisdiction of the newly added new residential area. 1953 After Xinmin District was abolished, Yuetang District was still established. 1959 changed its name to jiuli township, and 1957 changed its name to Tongshan township after it was merged into the county. 1958 Tongshan Township Group belongs to Qingshan People's Commune. 1959 When Tongshan Commune was first established in February, the former Qingshan Commune was divided into Qingshan Commune, Tongshan Commune, Chazhen Commune and Zhou Zhen Commune. 1962 the former Tongshan commune was merged into the newly established Xupu commune. In September, 1964, the part set aside by Xupu Commune was transformed into Tongshan Commune. Natural conditions: Tongshan commune belongs to hilly area. The northern part is hilly, and the southern part is flat hills. The terrain is undulating, the terrain is relatively broken, and there are many gully ponds. Among them, Datong Mountain rises from the ground, with an altitude of 149 meters, which is the first peak in the county. Xupu River flows from northwest to southeast, diagonally across the whole territory. Because it is an old river, the valley is gentle and there are many bends. The widened Xupu River is not only navigable for small transport ships, but also the main backbone river of farmland water conservancy in the southwest of the county. The territory is rich in yellow sand and stone resources.
