Why did Quanzhou change its name
Quanzhou was renamed because the government of Fengzhou (now Fujian) was in Houguan (now Fuzhou), and there was a mountain called Quanshan in Houguan, so Fengzhou was renamed Quanzhou.

Quanzhou was renamed several times, and it was called Fengzhou in the early Sui Dynasty. At that time, Quanzhou was in the present Nan 'an City, which belonged to Wurongzhou at that time and did not belong to Fengzhou. This situation lasted until the second year of Jing Yun in the Tang Dynasty (7 1 1), when Quanzhou, which was originally located in Fujian County, was changed to Quanzhou, and Wu Rongfu was changed to Quanzhou, which was under the jurisdiction of Fujian Governor's Office. Since then, all references to "Quanzhou" refer to Quanzhou today.

The Tang Dynasty was not the peak highlight period of Quanzhou, but the real highlight period. After the establishment of the Song Dynasty, the Song government set up a shipping company in Quanzhou to take charge of foreign trade. Quanzhou also attracted businessmen from all over the world, which made the development of the area more and more smooth and eventually became the largest seaport city in the world at that time.
