On the history of Chinese national anthem
On the issue of the national anthem, the Preparatory Committee of the new China People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) issued a notice to the whole country, and publicly solicited the lyrics of the national anthem, which had a strong social response.

By the end of September, 1949, * * * had received 632 national anthem manuscripts and 694 lyrics.

Contributors come from all walks of life, including students, primary and secondary school teachers, university professors, workers, farmers, government officials, writers and PLA soldiers.

After careful discussion, the National Anthem Dictionary Selection Committee believes that there are still few people who have collected enough manuscripts to be selected.

Therefore, the famous painter Xu Beihong suggested using March of the Volunteers as the national anthem.

This proposal was unanimously endorsed by representatives such as Zhou Enlai and Liang Sicheng.

When someone asked if the phrase "The Chinese nation is at its most dangerous moment" in the lyrics was outdated, Zhou Enlai said, "This song has played a huge role in history. Although it is now established in New China, there may be wars and arduous struggles in the future.

So be prepared for danger in times of peace, or use the original words.

"Finally, this song, which was scribbled on the cigarette liner by War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression's Han Zhaoyi, and composed with Nie Er's painstaking efforts, was unanimously endorsed by the delegates and became the national anthem of the people of China.
