A brief history of reconstruction of Dayun Temple in Jingchuan
Repairing the Old as the Old Since Gansu Daily published a long newsletter "Blowing away the dust of the years" and Lu Hao, then deputy secretary of Gansu Provincial Party Committee and governor, made important instructions, CCTV broadcasted the feature film "National Treasure Story-Dayun Temple Relic in Jingchuan, Gansu Province" and broadcasted the first and second episodes of "Letters of Dayun Temple Relic" in its national treasure archives. For a time, the major media in the country rushed to report.

Since then, gold-plated bronze boxes, silver combs, gold coffins and Buddhist relics have been exhibited in Japan, Singapore, France, Britain and Switzerland for many times. In June, 2004, he took 12 national treasures, such as bronze horse-running ritual vessels collected by Gansu Provincial Museum, to the United States to participate in the exhibition "Towards the Prosperous Tang Dynasty" hosted by National Cultural Heritage Administration in the 3rd-8th century.

The vigorous publicity of the media and the eager attention of provincial and municipal leaders have won a golden opportunity for the rebirth of the heritage of Dayun Temple in Jingchuan. In order to effectively protect the historical and cultural heritage and carry forward the excellent traditional Chinese culture, the Jingchuan County Party Committee and the county government decided to build the Jingyun Temple Museum in the original site of Jinyun Temple in Gu Jing according to the idea of "government guidance, diversified investment, phased implementation and step-by-step promotion".

Although the towering pagoda temple on the ground of Dayun Temple has disappeared in the storm of history, the site of the stupa underground palace built in the Sui and Tang Dynasties is still there, and the exquisite gold and silver coffins and the supreme Buddha bone relics are still there, especially in a large number of historical books. In order to respect history and reproduce the grand occasion and elegant demeanor inherited by Dayun Temple in those years, Jingchuan County has conducted extensive and sufficient demonstration on how to repair Dayun Temple in strict accordance with the principle of "repairing the old as the old". The opinions and suggestions of experts and scholars in religious and cultural circles have been solicited for many times, and the overall architectural style and layout have been repeatedly demonstrated, revised and improved. Shanxi Hengrui Architectural Design and Research Institute was hired to design the main building, and xi University of Architecture and Technology was entrusted to complete the detailed planning of Dayun Temple scenic spot construction. In the design of stupa, authoritative experts in steel structure and antique architecture inside and outside the province have been invited to hold seminars for many times to optimize the scheme, improve the design, reflect historical and cultural characteristics, and ensure reasonable design, structural safety and save money. The final planning scheme has been recognized by relevant experts in provinces and cities.

According to the construction plan, Dayun Temple Museum covers a total area of 364 mu, which is divided into three parts: central area, service area and scenic square. The overall planning and design is to imitate the architectural style of the Tang Dynasty. The estimated investment is about 300 million yuan. The central area covers an area of 100 mu, with a total construction area of 15000 square meters. It is mainly used for the construction of the main exhibition hall, Buddha's bone pagoda, bell tower, drum tower, East-West Monument Pavilion and reception management service center. The service area and scenic square cover an area of 264 mu, and the main construction areas are Yingbin Square, Cultural Street, Commercial Street and scenic roads. * * * It will be completed in three stages.

The first phase of the project started construction in August 2007 and was completed in May 2008. Pagodas, gates, bell towers, drum towers and east-west pavilions were built, and greening, lighting and water supply and drainage projects were implemented. The second phase of the project was completed in May 20 10. Three reception, management and service centers and the square in front of the gate were built, and the screen wall, scenic fence, greening, lighting and water supply and drainage projects were completed. At present, Dayun Temple Museum has begun to take shape, becoming the largest imitation Tang Dynasty building complex in Gansu.
