Henan is a traditional northern province in China. Although there are many rivers in the territory, it is not a place rich in water resources in people's impression. Then why are there so many inland ports? First of all, inland river shipping and port construction can accelerate the economic development of coastal areas, and have overwhelming advantages such as low transportation cost and large volume.

At present, there are eight famous ports in Henan. Let's see how they are:

Zhoukou port

Zhoukou Port is located on the Heying River in the southeast of Zhoukou City, Henan Province. It was completed in 2005. Goods and people here can reach the Huaihe River downstream by boat. It is the first inland container port in Henan Province.

Liuwan Port in Shenqiu

Liuwan Port is located in Liuwan Town, southeast of shenqiu county County, Zhoukou City, above He Ying and adjacent to Anhui. 1988, with a maximum annual throughput of about one million tons.

Huaibin Ma Yin Port

Ma Yin Port is located on the main channel of Huaihe River in the south of Huaibin County, Xinyang City. Historically, it is a famous port in southern Henan. Ships can go directly from here to Anhui, Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Shanghai.

Luohe port

Luohe once had a shipping history of 2000 years and was once a famous "flood and drought wharf" inside and outside the province. Luohe Port is located on the banks of Shahe River in the northern suburb of Luohe City. Opened on 20 19, it can be navigable for 500-ton single ships.

Gushi wangganggang

Wang Gang Port, formerly known as Wang Gang Wharf, is located on the Huaihe River in Wang Gang Village, sanhejian Town, Gushi County, Xinyang City. 20 10 opened to traffic, which is the largest deep-water wharf along the Huaihe River in Henan Province.

Pingdingshan Port (under construction)

Pingdingshan Port is located on the Shahe River within the jurisdiction of Pingdingshan City, and is divided into two ports, namely, Yexian Port and Gaoxin Port. At present, the progress of port construction is drawing to a close.

Tanghe Port (some sections of the river have been started)

Tanghe Port is located on the banks of Tanghe River in tanghe county, Nanyang City. Tanghe shipping has a long history. During the Ming and Qing Dynasties, ships could reach the Tanghe River in the north. Different from other ports in the province, the waterway here belongs to the Yangtze River system, and ships can reach downstream cities along the Yangtze River such as Wuhan and Nanjing. At present, the southern section of Tanghe Port (Phase I project) is under construction.

Shangqiu Port (under planning)

Shangqiu Port, located in Shangqiu City in the east of Henan Province, is a planned port.
