According to legend, Fuxi was the first snake in Huang San and the first king in China. He was born in Tianshui, where he created gossip, taught people to weave nets and engaged in fishing, hunting and animal husbandry.

Tianshui is an important birthplace of ancient culture in China, enjoying the honor of Xi's hometown, and it is a holy place for descendants of dragons at home and abroad to seek their roots and ancestors. There are many cultural relics in the territory, and there are 169 national, provincial and municipal key protected cultural relics, among which Dadiwan site preserves a large number of early Neolithic and Yangshao cultural treasures.
