The Historical Development of Yantian Middle School
In July, 20001,Yantian District Government and Shenzhen University Teachers College jointly established the second affiliated school of Shenzhen Teachers College, a state-owned private school, on the basis of Yantian Middle School and Yantian Primary School. In August, 2007, according to the relevant policies of the national private education development, the Second Affiliated School of Shenzhen Normal University was handed over to the Yantian District Government for management and the public system was restored. Kong Xiangyu, deputy director of the District Education Bureau, said that the establishment of primary and secondary schools and their renaming as Salt Harbor Middle School and Salt Harbor Primary School is part of the adjustment of the educational layout in Yantian District. After the two schools are set up separately, the high school of Yangang Middle School will become a vocational high school, highlighting the characteristics of vocational education and Yantian local characteristics; Yangang Primary School will also strive to become a better primary school in the east to satisfy parents.

At present, Yangang Middle School and Yangang Primary School still use the former Second Affiliated School of Shenzhen Normal University, but the administrative staff and teachers are completely separated.

Salt Harbor Middle School, junior high school is a public school, and high school is a vocational high school. However, there are ordinary classes (art, music, physical education) in high school. Generally, admission to ordinary classes depends on the results of the senior high school entrance examination (about 500 points). There is also a placement system for ordinary high school classes, which means that if the cultural and professional scores of each midterm and final exam are below a certain standard, you will be placed in vocational high school classes (equivalent to directly killing your chances of entering the university).
