The history of Guangji Temple
Guangji Temple was originally named Chun Qing Temple. According to Nanyue, the temple was built in the 25th year of Wanli of Ming Dynasty (AD 1597). The founder was a famous monk in Ming Dynasty, a famous Wuhu monk. This does not prevent monks from becoming monks in Nanru Temple. He came to Nanyue from Xinyang, Henan Province to become a monk. For more than 30 years, he has been suffering and refused to eat whole grains. After inheriting the mantle of fighting Buddha and monk, I came to the lion rock on Zhurong Peak to meditate. One day, he suddenly saw an ancient Buddha in Pilu Cave emitting colorful huaguang, so he built a Mao 'an there, lived there, and later built a temple. Soon, the temple was destroyed. In the 15th year of Shunzhi (A.D. 1658), Zhu An, a monk, returned to Nanyue from Jiangxi at the invitation of the gentry of Nanyue, and re-established Mao 'an at the foot of Zuta. Therefore, "the gongs and drums are loud, and the famous mountains are full of vibration." He changed the name of the temple to Guangji Temple, in order to benefit all beings, and cut down trees to build the temple in the autumn of Jihai (AD 1659). Later, the disciples of Zhu An Monk Longshan Monk and Zhili Monk raised funds to build it. After 59 years of intermittent construction, it was finally completed in the 57th year of Emperor Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty (AD 17 18) and became the present scale.
