The population of the villagers is about 3,000, and more than 95% of the villagers are surnamed Yang, who are descendants of the warriors. Their ancestors moved to the Central Plains from Daixian County, Shanxi Province, and one of them crossed Songshan Mountain in the middle of Qing Dynasty and settled here.

Yangling is the birthplace of noisy songs in Songshan Mountain, which was founded in Kangxi period of Qing Dynasty (A.D. 1703) and has a history of more than 300 years. As a traditional and unique literary and artistic project, it is listed as a provincial intangible cultural heritage. Noisy song is an artistic performance form with theatrical costumes, and its pace is similar to that of yangko. During the performance, the strong men put armor on their shoulders, and then the children (3-6 years old) stood on it, twisting their waist and waving their arms, with various roles in makeup painted on them, which was lively and cheerful. Noisy songs were originally used to worship and pray for rain. With the development of the times, they have gradually become popular cultural programs. Song Shan Noisy Song has participated in many folk social fire competitions in Dengfeng, Zhengzhou and Shandong, and has been well received by the audience.
