What do you think of Japan's visit to the Yasukuni Shrine and tampering with textbooks?
The Yasukuni Shrine is located in the north of Jiuduan, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, Japan. It commemorates soldiers or their families who died for the Japanese Empire since the Meiji Restoration. Most of them were Japanese soldiers and colonial recruiters who died in the Sino-Japanese War of 1894-1895 and the Pacific War, including 14 Class-A war criminals, which made the shrine controversial and therefore regarded as a symbol of Japanese militarism.

The dispute over Japanese history textbooks refers to the controversy surrounding Japanese domestic history textbooks. The debate mainly focuses on the topics of modern and modern history in the book, as well as the examination and approval of textbooks by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology of Japan.

The problem of Japanese history textbooks has not only attracted the attention of Japan. Neighboring countries, such as China, South Korea and other Southeast Asian countries, pay special attention to how Japanese history textbooks record and evaluate Japan's actions during World War II.

As early as June, 65438+July, 0982, the then Ministry of Education revised the history textbooks of colleges and universities, deliberately downplaying aggression, which caused dissatisfaction among neighboring countries such as China and South Korea. [ 1]

Textbooks sent to the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology for examination in 2005 were all approved after deliberation and revision, including controversial new history textbooks and new citizen textbooks issued by Fusang Society. This move immediately aroused the dissatisfaction of neighboring countries, mainly China and South Korea, as well as some Japanese NGOs and some educators. [2]

On June 12, 2005, Japan's Asahi Shimbun reported that Nakayama Nariaki, Japan's Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, said: "At that time, there was no such thing as' comfort women with the army' in Japan ... The textbook deleted the wrong things, which is a good thing." It is also alleged that Japan's education system overemphasizes that "Japan is a bad country" and is an education of "self-abuse history". [3]

In order to ask the county government and the county education commission not to include the new history textbooks and new citizen textbooks published by Fusang Society in the adoption list, the Ehime Citizen Organization of Japan applied to the Songshan District Court of Japan. However, the court rejected the application on August 1 1. [4]

On August 12, 2005, the Education Committee of Suginami District, Tokyo, Japan decided to use the new history textbook edited by the New History Textbook Compilation Association and published by Fusang Society as the middle school history textbook from the spring of 2006. Twenty-three secondary schools in this district (about 6,400 students) will use this textbook in the next four years. Ogasawara City, Tochigi Prefecture and Tokyo Metropolitan High School have also decided to adopt this textbook. [5]

On March 29th, 2006, the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology of Japan put forward a review opinion on high school textbooks, demanding that they be described according to the government's opinion, so that students can clearly understand that "Diaoyu Island and Dokdo are Japanese territory".
