Jianning County, a county under the jurisdiction of Sanming City, Fujian Province, was Sui 'an County in ancient times. Founded in the second year of Gan Yuan in Tang Dynasty, it was established in the first year of Zhongxing in Southern Tang Dynasty (958). Located in the northwest of Fujian Province, between 26 32'-27 06' north latitude and116 30'-17 03' east longitude, it is located in the economic zone on the west side of the Taiwan Strait, in the northwest of Fujian, in the middle of Wuyi Mountain. Jianning is the hometown of Taiwan Province's first physical bodhisattva, Cihang Master, and a memorial hall for Cihang Bodhisattva has been built in the Millennium Temple.

The geological structure of Jianning was formed 2.6 billion years ago, rising from the vast seabed to the land and gradually extending to the surrounding areas such as Taining and Ninghua. The geology is named Tianjingping landform, which is the oldest land in Fujian Province. This ancient Chinese land with a long history has formed unique geological conditions. Baishiding, the main peak of Jinchang Mountain in China World Geopark, is the second highest peak in Fujian (elevation1.858m), which is a typical granite and stone egg landform. Annual precipitation 1822 mm, annual average temperature 16.8℃. There are many minerals such as mica, porcelain clay and rare earth 10. The main traffic trunk lines are provincial highways 207 and 309, the Jiantai Expressway connecting line of Beijing-Fuzhou Expressway and Jianning section of Xiangpu Railway, and the planned transit railway is Pujian Longmei Railway. Tourist attractions include Jinchang Mountain, Gao Feng Ancient Road, Minjiangyuan Nature Reserve, and historical sites include the Millennium Temple.

Jianning is "the hometown of lotus in China", "the hometown of Huang Huali in China" and "the hometown of soapberry in China", and it is the base county of hybrid rice seed production in the whole province. Jianlian is known as the first lotus in the world and has been planted for thousands of years. It is a royal tribute of past dynasties and is protected by national geographical indication products. Jianning Huang Huali was rated as a famous fruit in China and a famous agricultural product in Fujian Province. Jianning is one of the largest and most representative characteristic agricultural counties in Fujian Province. The annual planting of lotus seeds, seeds and pears is stable at 50,000 mu, 50,000 mu and 1 1 10,000 mu respectively. Jianning County is also the birthplace of Minjiang River, the mother river of Fujian Province, the largest tissue paper production base in Asia and one of the central Soviet counties, and enjoys preferential treatment in the western region.
