In the 13th year of Shunzhi (1656), Dong Eshi entered the palace and was deeply loved by the emperor shunzhi. On August 25th of the same year, she was made a virtuous princess. Just over a month ago, Shunzhi named his imperial concubine on the grounds that she was "sensitive and good, and never surpassed Dong Eshi". The speed of promotion is rare in the history of China.
In the seventeenth year of Shunzhi (1660), Dong Eshi died in Chenggan Palace on August 19th at the age of 22. Dong Eshi is the favorite woman in the emperor shunzhi's life. After her death, she was made a queen and buried with the Qing Xiaoling Mausoleum. Posthumous title offered filial piety to Zhuang, proclaimed benevolence to Zhide, and paid homage to the queen (without the emperor posthumous title, she was the last queen in China who was independent from posthumous title).
