Jingdezhen in ancient times belonged to the eastern part of Chu State in the Spring and Autumn Period, belonging to Fan County, Jiujiang County in Qin and Wei Dynasties and Poyang County in Zhang Yu County in Han Dynasty. The Eastern Jin Dynasty is called Xinping Town. In the fourth year of Tang Wude (62 1), Xinping County was established.
