The Historical Evolution of Wu 'an
It belonged to Jin in the Spring and Autumn Period and Zhao Anyi in the Warring States Period. After Qin destroyed Zhao, Wu 'an belonged to Handan County.

A county was established in the early Han Dynasty, belonging to Wei County.

The county seat at that time was in Guzhen, 50 miles southwest of the city.

Wang Mang changed Wu 'an to "Huan 'an" in the new dynasty and changed it to Wu 'an in the early years of the Eastern Han Dynasty.

The county seat of the Sui Dynasty moved here.
