On April 8, Hongqi held the "Huiqi Technology-Hongqi New Energy Technology Conference", announcing the appearance of the third member of the platform family-Hongqi Hybrid HMP platform (namely "HQ Modular Power", hereinafter referred to as "HMP Platform").

Today, from a technical point of view, let's learn how Hongqi brand has built its leading edge in plug-in hybrid vehicle technology.

There are four characteristics: vertical and horizontal skills.

"HMP platform" is a new era hybrid platform built by Hongqi in five years, which has broken through 526 key core technologies. The platform consists of four core systems: hybrid transmission, hybrid engine, intelligent electric drive and safety battery, and intelligent energy control model.

Among them, "hybrid transmission" includes "LDU45" in vertical structure and "HDU35" in horizontal structure. "Hybrid engine" includes 20TD and 15TD engines. From the introduction of Qiu Xiandong, director, general manager and deputy secretary of the Party Committee of China FAW, we can also learn that the HMP platform has the following four characteristics:

For me, the first highlight of HMP platform is the internationally pioneered LDU 45, which is a longitudinal front-mounted dual-motor hybrid transmission. Note that the key word is "vertical"!

In the fuel age, we all know that the advantage of longitudinal powertrain lies in the more reasonable use of the limited space in the engine compartment. When installing larger high-power engines and transmission mechanisms with more gears, the layout of high-end configurations such as active suspension can not be affected. In addition, the powertrain is arranged along the central axis, and the axial load distribution is the most balanced. It can be said that it is a powertrain layout that takes into account many aspects such as performance, handling and comfort. Therefore, the products often equipped with vertical powertrain are luxury models of various car companies.

Then, in the new energy era, why are most car companies basically products based on the horizontal front-wheel drive platform architecture?

Personally, there are two main reasons:

1, physical structure limitation: the traditional longitudinal rear drive scheme is limited by the transmission shaft, which inevitably conflicts with the need to carry large-capacity batteries and electric four-wheel drive in the new energy era;

2.R&D is more difficult: if the design adjustment is made only according to the simple logic of "changing oil to electricity", it will be as common as the vertical P2 single motor in the powertrain designed by the Germans, which deviates from the principle of mixing first. It is really necessary to develop and manufacture a vertical hybrid system, and the cost may be high.

So in the context of electrification, can the total power achievement of luxury cars only be achieved?

For the red flag, the answer is obviously not the case. While most manufacturers are still exploring multi-level drive DHT, Hongqi has invested more than 200 people in the R&D team since the beginning of 20 18, and continued to tackle the key issues of vertical hybrid technology. After screening and excluding various configuration schemes such as single-motor rear drive and double-motor rear drive, the final answer is a vertical hybrid structure with two-speed engine direct drive and variable speed, and the product is "LDU45".

As far as industry technology is concerned, the vertical hybrid structure of Hongqi first solves the technical problem of vertical hybrid transmission transmitting power forward. High efficiency and energy saving, strong power.

First of all, like many new generation hybrid power systems, the word "high efficiency and energy saving" runs through the whole design concept of HMP platform.

For example, from the characteristics of "hybrid drive", it can be seen that the vertical "LDU45" adopts a compact and efficient five-axis parallel-series structure, which realizes the deep integration of double motors, double inverters, couplers and drive axles in the smallest space, reducing the assembly size by 33% and the assembly weight by 24%. Secondly, "LDU45" adopts multi-gear design scheme, and the engine can realize two-gear direct drive, so that the engine can continuously maintain the best working efficiency under more working conditions.

The transverse dual-motor hybrid transmission "HDU35" has an axial length of only 376mm, which gives full play to the advantages of the transverse structure in this respect. Besides reducing the weight by more than 10kg compared with similar products in the market, it also directionally optimizes the transmission efficiency, comprehensively applies technologies such as low resistance, low friction and low leakage, and develops advanced technologies such as high-efficiency flat wire oil-cooled motor, mixed special low-viscosity lubricating oil, dual electric pump energy-supplying hydraulic system on demand, ultra-low leakage pressure control valve and intelligent low-power control strategy, and finally realizes the highest transmission efficiency of the transmission over 98.5%, and the comprehensive efficiency of the hybrid power system.

From 20TD and 15TD two "hybrid engines", we can see more "high efficiency and energy saving" design logic. For example, "15TD Hybrid Engine" adopts two technologies of integrated intake and separated exhaust pressurization, which can reduce intake resistance and exhaust interference. In addition, the HMP platform also matches the intelligent energy control model for high-efficiency hybrid transmission and hybrid engine, which includes two core algorithms: global energy flow intelligent management and intelligent perception energy-saving planning:

● "Global Energy Flow Intelligent Management Algorithm": It can instantly identify the working state and running data of each system, identify the driving style according to the user's operation behaviors such as throttle and braking, optimize the working area of the engine and motor in multiple dimensions, and effectively reduce energy consumption;

Secondly, from our previous analysis of "LDU45", we can also find another design concept of "HMP platform"-strong power.

We learned from the press conference that the output torque of the longitudinal transmission ("LDU45") and the transverse transmission ("HDU35") can reach 4500Nm and 3900Nm respectively on the premise that the comprehensive efficiency of the two hybrid transmissions reaches over 90%. The source of its powerful power output is not only the powerful "20TD hybrid engine" with power rising more than 60kW/L and torque rising1.30N m/L, but also the parallel support of hybrid architecture brought by multi-gear "LDU45". There is also a core system of HMP platform, which is the power decoupling electric drive system.

Two-wheel drive and four-wheel drive, luxury and advanced

The understanding of "power decoupling electric drive system" may be relatively complicated. Let's first divide it into "power decoupling" and "electric drive system".

First, let's analyze the electric drive system. The peak power of the motor can reach 200kW, the highest speed can reach 18000 rpm, and the weight is only 74kg. Such a strong pure electric power output actually benefited from the long-term optimization of the electric drive system by Hongqi engineers, so the following technologies were found in this system:

● Short-span multi-layer square conductor technology: aiming at the vein of the driving motor-stator winding, the AC loss of the winding is reduced by increasing the number of square conductor layers in the stator slot; Three kinds of winding modules are connected in series, so that the winding ends do not overlap, the structure is compact, and the stator length is compressed; At the same time, the concentric winding transposition structure is adopted, which solves the circulation problem caused by the inconsistency of electromagnetic characteristics when square conductors are connected in parallel, reduces the internal circulation of stator winding under the condition of large current, reduces the copper loss of stator, and improves the efficiency and output capacity;

Global deep frequency conversion and super overmodulation technology: Aiming at the power module, the heart of the electric drive system, global deep frequency conversion and super overmodulation technology can actively identify different driving conditions of users, accurately adjust the driving frequency and modulation mode of the electric drive system in the whole range, and realize the optimal distribution of efficiency and performance of the electric drive system. The efficiency of electric drive system can be improved by 1%~3% in low speed region, and the economy of the whole vehicle can be further improved. In the high-speed region, the power can be increased by more than 10%, providing better dynamic response and acceleration performance.

If improving the performance of electric drive system solves the problem of fast driving experience, most hybrid systems have their own solutions at present, but it is far from enough to call it "an excellent electric drive system", especially for enterprises that pursue luxury cars like Hongqi. Because in addition to driving fast, it is also necessary to make the driver drive cool and control the texture more advanced. The so-called "no four-wheel drive, it is not easy to drive; No four-wheel drive, no luxury. "

However, at present, the hybrid new energy four-wheel drive system will face the problem that the permanent magnet motor will induce electromagnetic loss and traction loss of the transmission system when it follows, which will eventually lead to the problem of high energy consumption of electric drive at no load. So, let's talk about "dynamic decoupling" next.

In order to solve this problem, Hongqi adopted a differential integrated disconnect device. Its principle is to shift gears by electromagnetic clutch, which makes the response more rapid, efficient and reliable. With the support of "intelligent control strategy in all working conditions", four-wheel drive and two-wheel drive can be switched within100 ms. When two-wheel drive changes to four-wheel drive, electromagnetic charging should be prepared in advance, and the active speed regulation should be followed immediately, so that the front and rear torques can be effectively connected and compensated, and the switching can be realized without delay in one go, and the power can be on call. Four-wheel drive changes to two-wheel drive, front and rear torque is transmitted smoothly, electromagnetic power is cut off, the motor actively coordinates, and the electromagnetic clutch silently exits, realizing economic driving of two-wheel drive.

In short, the "power decoupling electric drive system" is based on the innovative structure of "intelligent disconnection+electric auxiliary drive" according to the user's usage scenarios, and is completely separated from the transmission shaft through a brand-new clutch structure, which greatly reduces the resistance loss of the electric drive under normal working conditions, and makes the vehicle have the performance of four-wheel drive, but only the energy consumption of two-wheel drive.

When the "power decoupling electric drive system" is perfectly combined with "hybrid drive" and "intelligent control strategy in all working conditions", it will bring an advanced luxury driving experience that other hybrid platforms cannot have at present.

Double safety, no new materials.

Finally, all luxury experiences come from the consideration of safety. Therefore, Hongqi has made a deeper exploration on the battery system, and its "high-safety and low-temperature resistant battery system" has achieved safe travel in the whole scene and all weather from the perspectives of resisting external shocks and improving low-temperature performance.
