In the fourth year of Tang Wude (62 1), Chizhou was established to govern Shicheng (formerly Qiupu County, now Yin Hui Town, Guichi District) and transferred to Qiupu and Nanling counties. In the first year of Zhenguan (627), Chizhou was abolished and the counties under its jurisdiction were transferred to Xuanzhou. In the first year of Yongtai (765), Chizhou was rebuilt in Guikou, between Chikou River (now Qiupu River) and the estuary of Qingxi River, and moved to Qiupu County, which was originally Shicheng (now Shicheng Village, Guichi Town). Chizhou was an observer of Xuanzhou, ruled Guikou (now the city) and was classified as Qiupu, Qingyang and Times. Yuanhe (806-820) changed Chizhou to Chiyang County.
In the second year of the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms (922), in the sixth year of Shunyi, Yang Wu changed Germany to Jiande and Qiupu to Guichi. In old books, Yang Wu once promoted Qingyang to an expeditionary force. In the second year of Southern Tang Dynasty (938), Chizhou was promoted to Tang Huajun, governing Guikou (now the urban area of the city) and transferring to Guichi, Jiande and Shidai counties; In the Southern Tang Dynasty, Qingyang County was restored as a county, but it belonged to Shengzhou.
1949 set up Chizhou area, which belongs to the southern Anhui administrative region. Chizhou organization is located in Guichi County, which governs 7 counties: Datong, Guichi, Zhide, Liu Dong, Qingyang, Shidai, Taiping and Tongling.
1950 Cancel Datong City; Fanchang County belongs to the original Wudang area and is included in Chizhou area. Jurisdiction over 8 counties.
Chizhou area 1952 revoked. Guichi, Tongling, Qingyang, Zhide and Liu Dong counties were placed in Anqing area; Taiping and Shidai counties were placed in Huizhou area; Fanchang County is under Wuhu District.
1959 Liu Dong and Zhide counties merged to form dongzhi county; 1July, 965, the original shitai county (merged with Taiping County in 1959) was partially merged into Baxiang, the second southwest district of Guichi County, where shitai county was located.
1965, Chizhou District was re-established and located in Guichi County. Guichi (Chizhou Town), Qingyang (Rongcheng Town), Dongzhi (Du Yao Street) and Tongling originally belonging to Anqing District are included in Chizhou District. Shitai county (Seven Towns) Seen from Taiping and Guichi Counties. Jurisdiction over 5 counties.
1970 Chizhou area was renamed Chizhou area, belonging to Guichi County. It has jurisdiction over Guichi (Chizhou Town), Tongling, Qingyang (Rongcheng Town), Shitai (Seven Towns) and Dongzhi (Du Yao Street).
Tongling County 1974 was placed under the leadership of Tongling City; Taiping county, which originally belonged to Huizhou area, was included in Chizhou area. Jurisdiction over 5 counties.
1980 65438+129 October, the State Council replied: Chizhou area was abolished, and Guichi and Dongzhi counties were transferred to Anqing area; Qingyang county was assigned to Xuancheng area (1983 Qingyang county was assigned to Wuhu city); Shitai and Taiping counties are under the jurisdiction of Huizhou.
1988 08 17 the State Council approved the establishment of Chizhou area, which governs Qingyang county of Wuhu city and dongzhi county, shitai county and Guichi city of the former Anqing area. There are 14 district offices, 13 towns and 94 townships.
On June 25th, 2000, the State Council approved the revocation of county-level Chizhou area and Guichi City, and the establishment of prefecture-level Chizhou City.
