Hello three times, since the founding of the People's Republic of China, the legislation on marriage and family has roughly gone through the following stages: the first marriage law in People's Republic of China (PRC) was promulgated on April 3, 1, 1950; 2. The current Marriage Law of the People's Republic of China was promulgated in September 1980, and the Marriage Law of 1950 was abolished; 3. Marriage Law (Amendment) was passed on April 28th, 2006. The main changes and additions are as follows:

1, adding provisions prohibiting spouses from cohabiting with others and domestic violence;

2. An advocacy provision that husband and wife should be faithful to each other and family members should help each other to maintain family harmony and civilization has been added;

3. Adding invalid marriage system;

4. Clearly define the scope of husband and wife's joint property and personal property, and improve the system of husband and wife's agreed property.

5. Further protect the rights and interests of the elderly.

6. The enumerative provisions of the principle of compensation and the principle of fault for divorce decided by the court have been added. In addition, the amendment to the Marriage Law also revised and supplemented the conditions for prohibiting marriage, the divorce of special subjects, the visiting rights of parents after divorce, and legal responsibilities, which made the Marriage Law more operable and reflected the systematicness and integrity of the law.
