China Democratic League (NLD) is a political party, which is mainly composed of high-and middle-level intellectuals engaged in cultural education and scientific and technological work. It has the nature of political alliance and is committed to the cause of socialism. The main founders are Zhang Lan, Shen Junru, Huang Yanpei and Zhang Boju.

Historical track

When NLD was founded, its name was "China Democratic Political Alliance". Participating parties are: China Youth Party, National Socialist Party (later renamed Democratic Socialist Party), China National Liberation Action Committee (later renamed Democratic Party of Agriculture and Workers), China Vocational Education Society and Rural Construction Association. 194 1 year1kloc-0/month, the China Democratic League was publicly announced. 1942, the National Salvation Federation led by Shen Junru joined. 1944 China Democratic League decided to change its name to "China Democratic League". 1945, NLD held its first congress, and Zhang Lan was elected as its chairman. 1947 10 NLD was declared as an "illegal organization" and its headquarters was forced to dissolve. Zhang Lan was the vice chairman of the Central People's Government, Shen Junru was the vice chairman of the National Committee and the president of the Supreme People's Court, and Shi Liang and Hu Yuzhi were government ministers respectively. After the establishment of People's Republic of China (PRC), NLD was established in 1956, 1958, 1979, 1983, 1988, 1992 and1992 respectively. The successive presidents of NLD include Huang Yanpei, Zhang Lan, Shen Junru, Mingxuan Yang, Shi Liang, Chu Tunan and Fei Xiaotong. The current honorary chairmen are Fei Xiaotong, Qian Weichang, Su and Tan, and the chairman is Ding.

Today's NLD

Since China entered the new period of reform and opening-up, NLD, guided by Deng Xiaoping Theory, has shifted its focus to socialist modernization, actively participated in the discussion of state affairs, exerted its own characteristics and advantages, and made positive contributions to the cause of reform, opening-up and socialist modernization. The development members of NLD are mainly large and medium-sized cities, mainly high and middle-level intellectuals engaged in cultural and educational work. NLD has established local organizations in 30 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities except Taiwan Province Province and Tibet, with more than 40,000 members/kloc-0.

The central organ of NLD is divided into six functional departments, including general office, organization department, propaganda department, social service department, research room and comprehensive office of special committees.

The NLD Central Committee has sponsored the monthly magazine Yan Qun and the internal magazine Central Committee News, as well as Yan Qun Publishing House and Yan Qun Science and Technology Consulting Service Center.
