The school's predecessor was "Jinjiang Academy". The Academy was founded in the 11th year of Guangxu in Qing Dynasty. (A.D. 1885), the first courtyards were built in the 13th year of Guangxu, but they were shut down because of the disorder of tourists. In the seventeenth year of Guangxu, the county magistrate moved from the old city to Jinjiang, and the villagers in Yongtai revived their spirits and donated money to raise funds before the Academy was built (the original site was in the second primary school in Chengmai County). In the twenty-fifth year of Guangxu, influenced by the trend of reform, the academy was renamed as "Jinjiang Higher Primary School Hall in Chengmai County".
After the Revolution of 1911, the whole country set off an upsurge of setting up middle schools. Celebrities in our county, such as Cai Bangxian (from the south of the old city), Wang Baoshan (from Jinjiang East Dynasty), Wang Xiuqiu (from Jinjiang Fulang), Qiu Yuxian (from the Qiu family in Chang 'an) and Zhang (from Jinjiang Downhill), are also ambitious and take the lead in raising funds. After nearly ten years' efforts, in the autumn of 1924, "Jinjiang Senior Primary School Hall in Chengmai County" was changed to "Chengmai Junior High School". In the same year, the Central Ministry of Education approved 1 1, and designated this day as the celebration day.
