Near Datong Station, neatly arranged large stone foundations, brick fragments and "Long live the wealth" official script tiles were found. On the north side of Gongnong Road outside the south gate, large stone pillar foundations, pipe tiles and mortar have been unearthed. It can be speculated that this is a large-scale architectural site of the Northern Wei Dynasty. A square inkstone was unearthed in the east, and the head of the inkstone was carved with earrings-shaped pool and four groups of animal riding, corner arrival, dance and monkey bathing patterns. The decorative patterns of Yunlong, Suzaku, waterfowl and fish on the inkstone surface and the square pattern of the lower pot door are orphans of the stone carving art in the Northern Wei Dynasty.
Cultural relics such as baqu silver flow, carved silver bowl and gold-plated high-legged steel cup were also unearthed at the scene, which have the characteristics of gold and silver vessels of Sassanian dynasty in Iran. It is the physical historical witness of the communication with the western regions during the Northern Wei Dynasty. In recent years, new sites have been discovered in the south of the city. Pingcheng site is a national key cultural relics protection unit.
