abstract

Tianning Temple in Changzhou is located at No.728, South Jiefang Road, Hongmei Park, Changzhou. It was built in the period of Tang Yonghui (AD 650-655), formerly known as Guangfu Temple, in the first year of the Northern Song Dynasty (AD11), and later renamed as its current name, 1300. After several times of destruction and renaming, it is known as "the first jungle in Southeast China" and "the crown of Brahma in a county". It is a national key protected temple and a cultural relic protection unit in Jiangsu Province, and is known as "the first jungle in Southeast China". Tianning Temple in Changzhou stands outside the East Gate of Changzhou, overlooking the world-famous Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal ahead, and backed by Hongmei Park, the largest park in Changzhou. It is the largest and best preserved ancient temple in Changzhou. It is known as the "First Jungle in Southeast China", featuring five halls: Daxiong Hall, Giant Buddha, Big Bell, Big Drum and Big Baoding.

Tianning Temple in Changzhou was built in Yonghui period of Tang Dynasty, with a history of 1300 years. The founder of Tianning Temple is Farong Zen Master. Qianlong went to Tianning Temple in Changzhou three times to burn incense, and inscribed a plaque and couplet for the temple "Dragon City Elephant Religion". Incense is flourishing all day here, and tourists are like clouds. Now it is a national key protected temple and a cultural relic protection unit in Jiangsu Province. Tianning Temple in Changzhou has eight halls, twenty-five halls, twenty-four floors, three rooms and two pavilions, with a total area of 1 10 mu. The Temple of the King is one of the few halls in China. There are three glittering giant monuments inscribed by Zhao Puchu, vice chairman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, president of the Chinese Buddhist Association and a famous contemporary calligrapher. In the Lohan Hall, 500 Lohan statues are resplendent, with different expressions and lifelike. Daxiong Hall is the largest Buddhist temple in the whole temple, dedicated to three giant buddhas, commonly known as "III Buddha", namely Nijiubu in the middle, Liuliguang Buddha in the east, and Amitabha Buddha in the paradise in the west. The walls on both sides of the main hall are embedded with 5 18 carved arhats, and their artistic level is even rarer, which is regarded as the treasure of the hall. Tianning Temple attracts thousands of tourists from Qian Qian and abroad with its long history, magnificent architecture, unique Buddha statues and numerous Buddhist achievements.

The main buildings of Tianning Temple are eight halls, twenty-five halls and twenty-four floors. Walking into the mountain gate, there is a spacious patio facing the King's Temple. On the left and right sides of the main hall are four statues of the King of Heaven, which are 7.8 meters high, the tallest of its kind in China. The Maitreya Buddha in Tianwang Temple sits on the altar of white marble, with a cornice and 90 statues carved on it, which is exquisite and beautiful. Pu Xian Hall and Manjusri Hall are on the left and right sides of Tianwang Hall. On both sides of the courtyard outside the back door of the temple are the Lohan Hall, dedicated to 500 Lohan.

The top of the Hall of Great Heroes has nine ridges and double eaves, 33 meters high, 26 meters wide and 27 meters deep. The iron wooden column is about 30 meters high, and it is known as "there are many people in the building, resplendent and colorful, and the sky is full of rosy clouds". The hall is dedicated to the tall, peculiar, magnificent and solemn Buddha statue of Tathagata III, with Ananda and Ye Jia standing in the middle, and Guanyin on the island behind, also known as the boy worshipping Guanyin. The two sides of the main hall are divided into twenty different shapes of heaven. A huge clock in the right front corner of the main hall weighs 4 tons. The left front corner is a big drum with a diameter of about 2 meters. There is a bronze Buddha presented by the Thai Buddhist Association in the right back corner of the main hall.

On the left and right sides of Daxiong Hall are the Buddhist Scripture Hall and Guanyin Hall respectively. There are 500 brick carved arhats on the west and south sides of the Dizang Hall and the east and south sides of the Guanyin Hall, which are different in expression and lifelike. Behind the Hall of the Great Heroes are Buddhist Scriptures and other buildings. It is said that Guanyin, Dizang, Pu Xian and Manjusri in Tianning Temple symbolize Putuo, Jiuhua, Emei and Wutai. There are also places of interest such as Hongmeige, Wenbi Pagoda and Boat Pavilion near Tianning Temple.

Tianning Temple is a thousand-year-old temple, which was rebuilt in the style of Tang and Song Dynasties in recent years. This tower was named "Tianning Tower" to celebrate world peace. The pagoda has a total building area of 27,000 square meters, with 13 floors and an octagonal layout, with a total height of 153.79 meters, making it the highest pagoda in China so far.

The tower brake is in the shape of a king kong throne tower, with five brake rods standing side by side, steel inside and gold outside, and colorful lights. There are more than 2,000 small white marble pagodas in Tallinn, and the whole white marble guardrail is engraved with scriptures. For the first time, the pagoda used bronze inscription tiles engraved with Buddhist auspicious words such as "Dragon City Elephant Religion". The tower is decorated with 50,000 carved Buddha statues and jade articles. There are copper plaques on each floor of the tower and wind chimes on the cornices ... The whole pagoda is spectacular, heavy, fresh and elegant, and stood in the treasure land of Longcheng at the end of 2005.
