"The Voice" (English: TheVoice; also translated as: The Voice of America, AXN Asian translation: Music Master PK) is a reality show that was launched on the American NBC television network on April 26, 2011. The Talent Show originated from the sensational singing competition program "The Voice of Holland" in the Netherlands. The judging lineup includes Christine Aguilera, Shiloh Green, "Magic Red" lead singer Adam Levy, Blake Shelton and other music industry celebrities. The program "Music Master PK" became a hit in less than a month after it was aired and has become one of the most watched programs on the NBC television network. Therefore, NBC has decided to continue recording the program for a second season. AXN Asia Channel has also introduced the program, which will be broadcast every Monday to Friday at 7pm from August 21, 2011.
The protagonists of this show are grassroots singers from all over the United States. They perform on the stage, and four music industry leaders sit in the audience.
Top singers serve as mentors, and the four mentors have their backs to On stage, you sit on a swivel chair for a blind audition. You do not judge people by their appearance through your eyes, but entirely based on the quality of your voice. If the contestant sings well and all four instructors turn their seats to the stage, the contestant has the right to choose one of the four instructors as his or her instructor. In the subsequent competitions, the instructors will give professional guidance to the players to help them pass the competition. The contestants will also go through the second round of PK (battle phase) within the mentor group and the third round of live performance shows. Finally, the mentor and the public will vote to select a winner, who will receive US$100,000. Bonus and a signing reward from Universal Music Company.
Competition system
The Voice consists of three stages: blind auditions, internal arena battles and the final live show. Four mentors/coaches will decide whether to invite the player to join their team through about one minute of the player singing during the blind audition session. If more than two coaches select the same player, the choice is left to the player himself.
Contestants on each team will receive guidance and development from their respective coaches. In the second stage of the program, the coaches will ask their two contestants to sing the same song at the same time, and then the coaches will decide who enters the finals. The finalists selected the winner of The Voice through audience voting during the live broadcast of the competition.
