Teach you how to walk on the catwalk
Do you know how the model walks? The catwalk is when the model walks on the T stage, commonly known as the cat walk, because the model walks on the catwalk. When walking on the stage, both feet should be walking in a straight line. When walking on the stage, you need to pay attention to many details. So what special attention should be paid to the model when walking on the stage?
When walking on the stage, the model's body should be straight and straight. Feel an upward pulling force on your body, but it should not be stiff. The neck should be straight and the head should be upright, but not stiff. The chin should be flat, the shoulders should droop naturally, and the hands should be natural. Avoid sticking out the abdomen and protruding buttocks. When taking a step, move your hips to drive your thighs, then lift your knees, use your calves to drive your feet, and walk out of a straight line. The model should swing her arms naturally. When practicing, use the shoulder joint as the axis, straighten both arms naturally, and swing back and forth alternately. The steps on the stage should be firm but not stiff, soft but unremitting. Avoid splayed feet or splayed feet. When models practice walking, they should pay attention to the coordination of their head, shoulders, hips, legs and other parts.
1. Feet:
The footing point should be moderate, not completely on the heel, nor can the heel and toes land at the same time, which would look quite awkward. Beginners often make this mistake, so it is recommended to land with the heels facing forward. You have to move quickly from heel to toe. You have to wait until the foot is completely stable before the other foot can come out. Some people walk a little bumpy. The main reason may be that before the foot is stable, they rush up with the heel. Be sure to wait until the front foot is stable, then the back heel. Only then can you have the strength to climb forward, move quickly to the front foot, and always keep the center of gravity on the front foot. When walking, the body is pushed out, not walked out. When moving, the toes are always pointed directly in front of the body, because the feet are the extension line of the legs, which can make the legs look slender and more attractive. The feet cannot be adducted. Generally, the legs should not be bent, but should be straight, otherwise they will appear Rickets.
2. Legs:
It is best to have a smaller gap between the legs when walking, or even no gap. This will make the legs look longer and taller. If the gap is too large, the center of gravity of the thigh will move towards The sides are off to the left and right, and it will sway from side to side, lacking the basic essentials of a man's stability. When the foot kicks out, the knee is used to find the music, which means that the knee is on the beat of the center of gravity, and the foot lands immediately.
Many people place the emphasis directly on their feet. This walking method makes people feel that the rhythm is very strong, but it is too stiff and lacks cushioning! When kicking out the feet, it is recommended to go faster. The stay time after kicking out should be long. If the speed is not controlled well, the feet will be light or wobbly. Many beginners have very light feet. The main reason is that the speed of the foot is not controlled well when the kick is thrown out, and the back foot is unstable when pushing forward. Caused by this, we usually wear heavier leather shoes or boots during training. My feet used to be very light, but later I tied sandbags to solve the problem. If an ordinary person and a person walking on a model walk towards you at the same speed, you will find that the person who has learned to model can kick several times faster than the ordinary person, and the stay will be very long. Of course, I do not advocate kicking. The faster the better, it looks unnatural.
3. Straddle:
Female models use their crotch to find music, but male models cannot move their crotch. This is sometimes a headache for male models. It is difficult to move their crotch. Part of the reason is that when the legs are kicked out, the straddle and leg force are not on the same plane. The friction of the knees at the beginning of walking is also one of the reasons why it is easy to move the straddle. Do not use your thighs to touch the knees for the sake of knee friction. Look for more reasons and don't be too impatient. In fact, it is normal for male models to move their crosses. As long as it is not obvious, moving a little will make them look better than not moving their crosses.
4. Abdomen:
Don’t forget to keep your abdomen in check when walking, especially for female models. It is very indecent to expose your belly. Some male models' heads and upper body sway as a whole when they walk, which is most likely caused by their lack of abdominal control or too soft waist. It is recommended to do more waist exercises.
5. Arm:
Arm swing can be said to be the most difficult to learn. We often say that we should use the big arm to drive the forearm, but very few people can actually use the big arm to swing. When you look in the mirror and see that the big arm is moving and the forearm is also moving, you often think that the big arm is moving. , it proves that the big arm is driving the forearm. In fact, it is the forearm that is driving the big arm or the axis joint is exerting force.
Personally, I think that when the big arm drives the forearm, it is the exertion of the triceps brachii, and it naturally swings a little lower behind the body. The rear swing arm should be large and the front swing arm should be small. The speed of the rear swing arm is slower than that of the front swing arm. When swinging the front arm, neither the big or small arms can exert force. It naturally bounces forward with the help of the rear swing arm. When you reach the desired angle of the front swing arm, control your wrist to hit the accent. Many people will deliberately use their wrists to suddenly stop on the accent. This is correct, but it is not natural. Many people even use their small arms to press down hard without using their wrists, and then swing their arms back. The pursuit of arm swing is natural and powerful. It only needs to be comfortable and not awkward. Don’t swing it harshly just to swing the arm.
6. Shoulders:
Shoulders and arms They are interrelated. Poor arm swing will directly affect the effect of shoulder movement. Many people mistakenly believe that moving the shoulders means swinging the shoulders from side to side with the waist or lifting the shoulders with the big arms. In this way, moving the shoulders will lose the original purpose of the shoulders and arms. It can also be said that it is unnecessary. I fell into this misunderstanding at the beginning. Fortunately, it was discovered and corrected in time. To move your shoulders, you need to keep your waist straight. During walking, you should use your shoulders as a pillar. When your big arm naturally drives your forearm to throw back, the back muscles (the part opposite to the chest muscle) can form an inverted The triangular muscles) are pulling down and backward. When the music is suitable, if the shoulder movement is particularly large, it will give people a feeling of being chic, slutty, gangster and lawless. This is what many fashions want.
For beginners, I personally do not recommend moving the big shoulders, because moving the big shoulders will generally cause the following disadvantages: (1) One shoulder is high and the other is low (mostly the left shoulder is high and the right shoulder is low). Ten people will appear, but sometimes it is not obvious, and sometimes it is not there. If you move your shoulders today, it may not be the same height tomorrow; (2) If you don't move well, you will shake your shoulders left and right with your waist; (3) Swing your arms forward. Not natural enough, the arms will lift the shoulders harshly; (4) Not natural enough; (5) The left and right sides of the body are asymmetrical when walking; (6) One shoulder always appears as the accent; (7) ), it’s obviously my waist that’s shaking but I always feel like my shoulders are moving, etc. If you already have one shoulder high and one shoulder low, you can try to hit the emphasis of the music with both shoulders at the same time. Look in the mirror more often and use your back to feel what is wrong. As long as the method is correct, it will be corrected in a day or two at most. . It is best to move your shoulders slightly or even not move your shoulders at all.
7. Head:
Head shaking is mainly due to lack of concentration, and some are innate habits. As long as you pay more attention to shaking or tilting your head when walking and find ways to correct it, it can still be solved. When walking, you must not move your mouth randomly or close it too tightly. Just relax as usual. If there are some unnecessary movements, it will be very scary. Generally, when walking from the backstage of the catwalk to the front stage, blinking two or three times is enough. Blinking too much will make you look unsteady, and it is not advisable for girls at the front desk to frown. We need to see confidence from the eyes. It is best to have content. The key is to express it with the eyes according to the different music. In many cases, your expression speaks louder than your body language.
8. Rhythm:
Music is composed of three parts: fast, medium and slow. Boys are required to play at medium speed, medium to fast and medium to slow. Generally speaking, if you play medium-tempo music, just keep playing at the medium speed. If you play fast or slow music, you can't hit every accent at the same time. That way of playing is very awkward and ugly. We can divide the two beats of slow-paced music into four, six or eight steps; and divide the two beats of fast-paced music into one-half, one-quarter or even one-eighth steps. There is a difference in speed between girls and boys. They can walk at slow, medium or fast speeds. On the premise that you have mastered this rhythm, you can also walk with the music at your own speed; you can even play a piece of music at several speeds. When a boy's left knee hits the accent beat, his right wrist and left shoulder also hit the accent beat. In fact, these three points of stress are not enough. If you want to walk well, you need to be stable, have a sense of rhythm all over your body, and use your body to absorb the music to exude JIQING and vitality. No matter whether a boy or girl passes in front of you, you should feel like the wind is blowing through you.
