Studying in South Korea: Major Settings at Kookmin University

The first president and chairman of the board of directors of Korea Kookmin University was Hae Gong Shin I-hee, who was the first speaker of the National Assembly. The founding philosophy of the school at that time was "a university for the nation, a university for the people".

In 1959, it was taken over by Mr. Kim Sung-kun, the founder of South Korea's Ssangyong Group. His educational philosophy was to cultivate necessary leadership talents for South Korea's modernization. Kookmin University has also been working hard for this goal. Kookmin University is located at the foot of Bukhan Mountain. It has a beautiful campus environment, good teaching facilities and advanced teaching equipment. More importantly, the school has strong teaching staff. Currently, National University has 11 colleges and 14 graduate schools, with more than 22,000 students enrolled.
