Extended information:

Pig Eight Rings Eating Watermelon is the work of Bao Lei, a famous modern fairy tale writer.

The Tang Priest and his disciples went to the Western Heaven to fetch Buddhist scriptures, passing through barren hills and fields. The Tang Priest sent the Monkey King to look for fruits and vegetables, and Pig Bajie also went with them. They didn't go far, and Pig pretended to have a stomachache, so Wukong had to go alone.

Pig was just about to fall asleep when he saw a big watermelon under the cliff in front of him. He quickly moved it to the shade and cut it into four pieces. I ate my own piece first, but I didn't feel satisfied, so I thought of various excuses and ate all the watermelons belonging to Wukong, Friar Sand and even Master.

In order to teach Pig a lesson, Wukong turned into a watermelon skin and followed Pig all the way back. Watermelon skin deliberately played tricks on Bajie, causing him to fall a lot. Finally, Bajie had to admit his mistake in front of Master.

Shooting background of "Piggy Eating Watermelon":

In p>1956, Wan Guchan, one of the three brothers of Wan's family, was infected by the development of animation film creation in the Mainland and inspired by the government's emphasis on animation, and returned to Shanghai from Hong Kong to work in Shanghai Animation Film Studio. He wanted to realize an idea that had already occurred-to shoot paper-cut cartoons.

This idea coincides with the idea that the Film Studio should vigorously develop national style cartoons at that time, and was immediately supported by Tewei, then the director of the Film Studio. At the beginning of 1957, Wan Guchan led Chen Zhenghong, Zhan Tong, Liu Fengzhan, Xie Yougen, Che Hui, Du Chunfu and Hu Jinqing to form a paper-cutting experimental group, and began to prepare paper-cutting. Their first Shoot was unsuccessful, and the characters were not positioned during the manipulation, so the actions of the characters were very shaky.

At the beginning of 1958, the second Shoot was started. Due to the lessons learned from the first Shoot, after more than a year's hard work, the first paper-cut cartoon in China was finally successfully trial-produced in September 1958.
