Nalan is from Harbin, Heilongjiang Province. His original name is Li Yi. His father is Manchu and his mother is Han. Graduated from the Vocal Department of the China Conservatory of Music and studied under the famous vocal music educators Zhu Wei and Professor Zou Wenqin of the China Conservatory of Music.
