The Music Department of Taiyuan Normal University was established in 1986, with strong teaching staff and complete discipline construction. There are currently more than 80 faculty members and more than 700 students. It has more than 20 experts, professors, young and middle-aged backbone teachers and academic leaders who are well-known both inside and outside the province. It has modern teaching facilities such as digital piano teaching system. There are seven teaching and research rooms including vocal music, piano, instrumental music, theory, aesthetic education, practice and experiment.
The Music Department of Taiyuan Normal University aims to cultivate comprehensive development of moral education, physical education, art and labor. It has qualified high school and middle school music teachers with bachelor's degrees, as well as singing (playing) and arrangement of mass art groups, museums and institutes. The main goal is to guide, guide and manage talents, focusing on musicology teacher education, and at the same time developing musicology non-teacher majors, art general education majors (directions) and adult education majors. 2. Shanxi University Conservatory of Music is a specialized college that cultivates senior music talents. It currently has 29 full-time and associate professors, 20 lecturers, and 6 departments, 3 rooms and 1 school, namely: Theory of Composition Department, Vocal Music Department, Keyboard Department, Orchestral Department, Folk Music Department, Dance Choreography Department; Music Comprehensive Laboratory, Music Library and Reference Room, Instrument Room and Music Art Research Institute. There are also choirs, folk orchestras and symphony orchestras. The college currently has three master's degree programs: musicology, art, and drama; and four undergraduate majors: composition and composition technology theory, musicology, music performance, and dance choreography. It is the only non-normal music school in Shanxi Province.
