Characteristics of Moorish music

This disc was recorded by Austrian conductor Gerard Kersten and the G?vle Symphony Orchestra. It includes two of Eggert's four symphonies, namely the three-movement "E flat" Symphony No. 3 in C major" and the four-movement "Symphony No. 1 in C major." In addition, it also includes the overture to the opera "The Moors in Spain" and the soundtrack to the drama "Svante Stüler". The overture to "Moors in Spain" is very lively and without any prelude. The music goes directly to the noisy theme, and the crazy violin part joins later. The "Moor" theme is played by percussion, recalling the music of Weber and Rossini. The work is short and ends as abruptly as it begins. The score of the drama "Svante Stüler" has no overture and each piece of the score is short. In these works, Eggert integrated the styles of Mozart and Beethoven into the dramatic music.
