Examination format and requirements
The main subject of vocal music mainly assesses candidates’ voice conditions, singing methods, performance abilities and difficulty of works. Candidates choose a piece (song or opera excerpt) of their own choice, mainly using bel canto, ethnic singing and popular singing for the exam. The vocal music major examination does not provide live piano accompaniment.
The main subject of instrumental music mainly assesses the candidates' performance posture and method, performance skills, performance ability and difficulty of the work. Candidates can choose the types of musical instruments of their own choice, which mainly include various keyboard instruments, various commonly used Western orchestral instruments, ethnic orchestral instruments and electroacoustic instruments (except for piano, candidates must prepare other instruments by themselves).
