The school was founded in 1897 as Jingfu Academy. Later, it merged with Qiushi Academy to form Anhui University Hall, and later changed to Anhui Armed Forces Academy, Anhui Army Academy, and Anhui Law and Politics College; in 1928, it was established as a provincial school. Anhui University was established here; in 1946, it was changed to National Anhui University; in 1949, it was changed to the three branches of the PLA Navy Joint School.
