University of Augsburg is a comprehensive university located in Augsburg, Bayern, Germany. The school was built and put into use in 1970. The Mozarteum of Music at the University of Augsburg is also known as the Mozarteum Music Center at the University of Augsburg, or the Mozarteum Department of Music at the University of Augsburg.
The Mozarteum of Music at the University of Augsburg was formerly the Mozarte Music Center of the Augsburg Municipal Government, founded in 1821. In 2008, the Bavarian State Parliament decided to merge it into the University of Augsburg. It is also committed to research and teaching in the fields of music education theory, musicology and music therapy, and occupies a high position in German higher education. The college has three departments: music education (teaching), music therapy and musicology department; basic music education, vocal music, string music and piano department; orchestral music, percussion and conducting department.
