On December 28, 2018, I listened to the first classical concert in my life at Xinghai Concert Hall. I finally saw with my own eyes what a real classical concert performance is like, and I am very grateful to the wonderful performance of the Baden-Württemberg Philharmonic Orchestra, which came all the way from Germany.
The main performance list of this concert
1. Opening piece: Rossini’s William Tell Overture
2. First half: La Weill's Piano Concerto in G major
3. Second half: Beethoven's Symphony of Destiny No. 5 in C minor
Maybe everyone was still unfinished, applause continued, and the band performed a Guangdong encore It’s a piece of folk music, and I don’t remember the specific name of it.
Xinghai Concert Hall-Symphony Hall is set up on the fifth floor, and the toilets are outside the second floor. During the intermission of the performance, the lounge set up outside the concert hall is very simple, elegant and comfortable. There is also a photo wall of famous musicians who have performed here in the past years.
Let’s talk about two short excerpts that impressed me very much
Excerpt 1, Chapter 2 of Ravel G played by Wan Jieni is very touching and delicate The long and melancholy sound of the piano complements the melancholy and deep sound of the flute, filling the air with a distant and sad atmosphere.
Excerpt 2, Beethoven’s Fifth Symphony of Destiny was composed after Beethoven became deaf. At the beginning of the second half, the first chapter showed a dark, cold and majestic atmosphere, symbolizing the cruelty of fate. When the strong string sound weakened in the middle, a short oboe sound played tenaciously, which made me feel very shocked. As soon as possible Confrontation is weak, but strength is tenacious. Symphony of the Fifth Destiny gave me another perspective on genius.
Excerpt 3: After the performance of Beiwu, conductor Bernhard Epstein took the curtain call. He returned to the factory and introduced us in Chinese to perform a short piece of Cantonese folk music for us. Although I did not understand everything he said, my enunciation was That's right, Guangdong, tunes, folk music. I found a characteristic. It turns out that at the beginning and end of a symphony concert, the band interacts with bowing, and the audience interacts with applause and seats, using music as a communication link.
Because photography is not allowed during the performance, a photo was taken after the performance to commemorate the concert.
