Starring: Xiang Weiping and Luo Haoquan. The choreographer skillfully personified two baskets of fresh lotus roots, and two actors wore lotus root-shaped skirt baskets to play the role of fresh lotus roots, and the dance started on the way of rural girls carrying fresh lotus roots. The girl with the lotus root sometimes exchanges feelings with the lotus root, and the two lotus roots sometimes amuse each other. The whole work has a strong flavor of life and the spirit of the times. Cheerful music runs through, and the movements adopt Jiangsu folk dance materials and change and develop. The rhythm jumps, the steps are light and the waist and hips are smart. Because of the successful creation of the dance image of fresh lotus root, the works are full of humor and interest, fresh and gratifying. The performers are all amateur dancers, and their performances are natural and vivid, and their movements are graceful and generous. After the performance, they have won wide acclaim and are considered as a creative new folk dance.

This dance won the first prize in the National Folk Music and Dance Competition held in 1986.
