On March 1th, 21, Guangzhou Xinghai Concert Hall held the premiere concert of "Fragrance of Chinese Music-A New Compilation of Guangdong Music in Xu Peidong" (a CD with 18 pieces of Guangdong music and a collection of music scores of 18 pieces of Guangdong music printed by Jingzhuang) sponsored by the Propaganda Department of Guangzhou Municipal Committee and Guangzhou Federation of Literary and Art Circles. This high-level concert made the audience drunk, and got many inspirations and benefits. Xu Peidong is a famous composer who enjoys the special allowance of the State Council and has made outstanding achievements in contemporary China, and an advanced worker in the national cultural system. He is currently the party secretary and executive vice chairman of the China Musicians Association. He is also a musician who is proficient in Cantonese music (the original name of this kind of music is called "Cantonese music" nowadays). As he was young, he had an inextricable affection for Cantonese music, and he persistently studied it for a long time, so that he thoroughly mastered the characteristics and manifestations of Cantonese music in terms of its rotation, mode, tonality, musical structure and legal system. Because of the above-mentioned profound artistic connotation, he made a second creation for Cantonese music, and he was able to make 18 pieces into fine works, and his performance level was obviously raised to a higher level, which made local Cantonese fans not only recognize these pieces, but also listen to them with ecstasy. Since the founding of New China, there are countless musicians who have created or re-created Cantonese music in this province and other provinces, but Xu Peidong is the only one who can produce a large number of excellent works and publish CD albums and music scores.

The 18 tracks on the CD of "The Fragrance of Chinese Music-A New Collection of Xu Peidong Cantonese Music" are: 1. Entertainment; 2. Autumn Moon in Pinghu; 3. Hungry Horse Ringing; 4. Peach Blossom Waves; 5. Moon in Santan; 6. Walking; 7. Harmony of Fish and Water; 8. Drunk Dancing in Wugong; 9. A Girl Without Sorrow; 1. Lonely Goose. The CDs of these tracks were all played and recorded by the Guangdong Music Group of china opera National Orchestra. In the premiere concert, 13 works were performed, plus a song "Birds in the Woods" that was not included in the CD. Among the 14 tracks played, they were divided into three groups and performed by two bands: the first group was performed by the "Guangdong Music" group of china opera National Orchestra; The second group was performed by the Guangdong Music and Quyi Troupe. The third group is composed of two bands. The audience applauded for a long time, and the performers had to return to the sensational scene for four times. In this premiere concert, it is really difficult for people to tell the difference between the band and the local professional band playing Cantonese music. The joint performance of the two can be integrated into one in terms of legal system and style. The Fragrance of Chinese Music —— A New Compilation of Guangdong Music in Xu Peidong was a complete success.
