Artistic Features

Luo Yusheng’s experience of learning Peking Opera since she was a child has enabled her to develop a good voice that can be both high and low. Not only can she easily sing high-pitched arias that ordinary men cannot sing, but she can also perform some low-pitched melodies like the Lao Dan voice in the Peking Opera "Fishing the Golden Turtle". This allows her to not only control the high-pitched tone of her singing, but also It is generous and deep in the mid-bass range.

It is precisely because of the characteristics of her voice that she has a more prominent lyrical advantage compared to the narrative rap music style sung by male voices, which also makes her more expressive in singing. .

"Jiange Hearing Bells" is Luo Yusheng's famous work, and it is also the representative work of Luo School Jingyun Dagu. Before Luo Yusheng, most of the Jingyun drums, especially the Liu School's repertoire, were about telling and singing long stories, mainly in a narrative music style, so the melody was not strong.

However, "Jiange Hearing the Bell" is mainly lyrical, with beautiful and moving melody and natural and smooth singing connection. Its sad and desolate tune fully exaggerates the depression and silence of the palace in the autumn wind and rain.

When singing "My Concubine" and "Unbeautiful Rain", Luo Yusheng used a sad tone and powerful vibrato to deal with the words "concubine" and "rain". It also adds to the rich lyrical color of the singing, making the protagonist's sincere emotions suddenly burst out, which is soul-stirring.
