The ranking of Japanese conservatories is as follows:
1. Tokyo University of the Arts.
The main purpose of Tokyo University of the Arts is to cultivate artists in the fields of art and music. The Department of Music has trained many famous composers, performers, and conductors. Its Music Department consists of: Composition Department, Conducting Department, Vocal Music Department, Instrumental Music Department, Korean Music Department, Music Science Department, and Music Environment Creation Department.
2. Kunitachi College of Music, Japan’s National University of Music.
The National University of Music is the first music higher education institution in Japan. The name of the university was founded in 1970 from the National City. Its music department has performance subjects and music education subjects; the graduate school curriculum has five specializations: vocal music specialization, instrumental music specialization, composition specialization, musicology specialization, and music education specialization.
3. Tokyo College of Music.
The Tokyo Conservatory of Music is the oldest private music school in Japan, with currently more than 300 teachers. Our aim is to enable students to continuously cultivate and enrich their spirit and culture during the learning process through high-level teaching concepts and techniques, so that they can adapt to globalization and the information society.
Requirements for studying abroad at Japan Conservatory of Music:
1. Graduation from high school.
2. Have the status of studying abroad and re-staying (the Immigration Control and Refugee Recognition Act) when enrolling.
3. Have Japanese language ability that is no different from that of other students after enrollment.
4. Have good facial features and good health.
5. Have a real identity guarantor. The guarantor is an adult who lives in Japan, is able to make a living, and can bear all responsibilities related to his/her tuition and interests.
2. Doctor.
1. Master degree.
2. Those who have completed graduate school training courses and those who are expected to complete them before March 2011.
3. Those who have been awarded a degree equivalent to a graduate degree abroad, and those who are expected to be awarded one before admission.
4. Those designated by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology.
5. Our graduate school will review individual admission qualifications and recognize those who have equivalent or higher academic qualifications to graduate degree (or full-time degree) holders and who are 24 years old or older before admission.
