Anhui has beautiful mountains and clear waters and outstanding people. There is the beautiful and majestic Huangshan Mountain in the south, and the Tianzhu Mountain in the west. The Yangtze River runs through it to the east and runs parallel to the Huaihe River. Anhui people have lived and worked here for generations and created a large number of beautiful folk songs. Because Anhui folk songs are located in the middle zone between the Yellow River culture and the Yangtze River culture, they are transitional in language, customs and climate. Therefore, they are generally rich in musical characteristics of the coexistence and compatibility of northern and southern styles. Anhui has a vast territory, and the people in different places have great differences in language, life, customs and other aspects. According to the geographical distribution, it can be divided into five color areas.

Northern Anhui folk songs are rough and simple, with bright colors. Places such as Suxian and Fuyang, located in Huaibei, have the characteristics of the Central Plains culture in terms of culture and language. At the same time, they are infiltrated into Chu and Wu cultures. The folk song style is rough and heroic, with steady rhythm and ups and downs of melody. Representative works include "Picking Pomegranates" and "Several Bends of the Yellow River on the Ground".

Huagu is a kind of folk song and dance in my country. It was recorded in the Southern Song Dynasty. It was developed by farmers playing drums and singing when planting rice in the fields. The performance form is a man and a woman. The man plays a small gong and the woman plays a gong. Small flower drum, singing and dancing, sometimes adding musical accompaniment. The styles and tunes of flower drums vary from place to place.
