Ah Yue first came into contact with music when she was in junior high school. Because all my friends are in bands, even some famous musicians. So Ah Yue started learning electric guitar from her friends. Then he joined the heavy metal band "Emperor Band". He was quite talented and taught himself guitar, bass and other instruments through hard work. He once served as drummer in the gothic metal band "Mokeke" and served as rhythm guitar and vocalist in the British band "J2". And passed the Emperor's Piano Level 8 in a short period of time. (Note: It is the Emperor Piano)
Ah Yue was born in a well-off family, and his family was not particularly wealthy. His family sent him to study art since he was a child. Not wanting to increase the financial burden on her family, Ah Yue learned most of her musical knowledge by herself through books and guidance from friends. But this did not affect Ah Yue's music career at all. In order to be able to make music better, Ah Yue taught herself regular university music textbooks and often consulted professors at Xinghai Conservatory of Music in private. Due to his diligence, he quickly mastered music knowledge such as harmony, arrangement, and orchestration. Because learning music and making music require relatively large investment, Ah Yue always earns the money needed to study music by writing lyrics and working in a production studio.
Ah Yue bought her first guitar by earning money from writing lyrics. It is the entry-level model of GIBSON guitar, Les Paul Studio. At that time, the market price was about 14,000. Ah Yue laughed and said that she stayed up late and wrote lyrics for several months to get a guitar of her own. Today, I have replaced countless guitars, and I even have my own production studio and team. All of this is hard-won and is the result of hard work.
Attitude towards music
Music critic: Some people always say that playing music costs money. Some people also say that a computer and a microphone can already play music. For you, what do you think?
Ayue: Actually, that’s not the case. If you want your music to be of good quality and reach a certain level. In addition to your musical knowledge and sense of music. Good recording equipment, recording environment, good sound card and other hardware facilities are determined by many factors. Therefore, music is relatively expensive for ordinary people. Because they need to record and do post-production outside, many people even lack music theory knowledge and do not know how to arrange music. That’s why so many private music production studios have emerged. I don’t think that a piece of software and an ordinary microphone can achieve publishing level. If I say so, I’m just lying to you. Basically, you can tell whether it was recorded in a professional recording studio as soon as you listen to it.
Music Critic: What about you? How can you spend so much on music?
Ah Yue: From the first time I went to a friend’s recording studio to record damo, to now. I have probably made more than 50 songs of my own. Some have been sold, and some have been published. Among them, more than half can reach publication-level quality. Because later on, I had my own recording studio and seniors who worked with me, so making music was not a problem. Some songs were also recorded in outside recording studios. But the cost is not too expensive, because I earn income from both the lyrics and the arrangement.
Music Critic: How did you get into the recording industry?
Ayue: I started out as the lead singer in an underground band, and then I learned electric guitar from a friend because that friend had pretty good guitar skills. He studied under a teacher in Japan and was the regular guitarist for many singers to record albums. So in that atmosphere, I progressed relatively quickly. Later, I asked my seniors for advice on other instruments, and learned the instruments and music theory semi-self-taught. Later, under the introduction of a friend, I accidentally took the position of a sound engineer and recorded once, and I became a sound engineer from then on.
Music Critic: What kind of team will the Jace team you founded be?
Ayue: Actually, "Jesse" is not a studio. What I want more is to treat him as a music team and an artistic team. He is a big family of people who love art. The outside world always thinks that it is a commercial team, but this is actually wrong. There is no such thing as a contract for Jesri's musicians. Musicians are also human beings and have to work for a living.
We don't take jobs under the name "Jess". Our musicians take over work under their own names or under the names of the record labels they are signed to. For example, concert planning, supervision, record production, etc., including me. But when one of us releases original music, we add the group name "Jess."
Music Critic: What are your future plans?
Ayue: If possible, I will try to reduce my workload, make more non-commercial music, and publish my own works. I hope to release more music works under the name "Jace". Even if I do all the writing, music and production, I will always call it "Jace", and so will the rest of our musicians. I also hope that in addition to music, our other members will also have better results in art, fashion, photography, etc.
Lyric writing
Ah Yue’s lyrics are very good. The lyrics he writes can always express the composer's emotions, and his writing style is smooth and delicate. He is one of the few professional lyricists born in the 1990s. There is always an endless supply of inspiration in his mind. He once helped a musician fill in the lyrics for a song, and in less than a day, he actually wrote more than ten versions. The writing was smooth and all were excellent works. He is good at playing word games and his lyrics are not straightforward or superficial.
