If the phone suddenly loses sound, it should be caused by muting or lowering the volume, connecting headphones or Bluetooth headphones, silent mode, broken speakers or headphone jacks, software problems, etc.
1. The volume is muted or turned down
This is one of the most common reasons. You may have accidentally turned the volume to a muted or too low level. In this case, simply press the volume button and adjust the volume to a higher level to resolve the issue.
2. Headphone or Bluetooth headset connection
If you have connected a headset or Bluetooth headset to your mobile phone, the audio from the mobile phone will be output to the headset or Bluetooth device. Therefore, make sure these devices are disconnected.
3. Silent mode
A common setting for some mobile phones is to put the phone in silent mode. If you didn't intentionally set it to silent mode and you still can't hear sound, check to see if a message similar to "Do Not Disturb" appears.
4. Broken speakers or headphone jacks
If you listen to music or videos a lot, your device's speakers can get damaged from overuse. Likewise, there may be some issues with the headphone jack. So, check your device’s speakers for any breakage or other issues that might be causing the silence.
5. Software issues
Sometimes, your phone may experience a software glitch or operating system crash, which may cause your device to become silent. In this case, restarting the phone or doing a factory reset can solve the problem.
