At the Middle School Affiliated to the Central Conservatory of Music, Zhang Xiaofeng studied under Professor Zhang Jin, the director of the piano department of the Middle School Affiliated to the Central Conservatory of Music, and received extremely strict basic training and good artistic cultivation. When he graduated from high school in 1997, Zhang Xiaofeng was admitted to famous music conservatories such as Manhattan School of Music, Mannes College of Music and Michigan Conservatory of Music in the United States and received the first-class scholarship from the Solomon Teaching Foundation. Solomon Mizikao Fsky said at the time, "Zhang Xiaofeng is a rare talent." In order to have a good continuity of his studies, Zhang Xiaofeng finally chose the Central Conservatory of Music to study under the famous pianist and educator Professor Yang Jun, who was the head of the piano department at the time.
While in college, Zhang Xiaofeng participated in many domestic and international professional piano competitions and achieved excellent results. Among them, in 1999, he participated in the "Commemorating the 150th Anniversary of Chopin's Death" Opening Piano Competition held by the Central Conservatory of Music and won second place; in 2000, after passing the domestic selection competition, he participated in the first "Lessietisky" International Piano Competition. Most of the judges of this competition were judges of the Chopin and Tchaikovsky International Piano Competitions. In the fierce competition of many outstanding players from all over the world, they won the fifth place after three rounds of competition; in 2001, as the only Chinese contestant to go to Brazil Sao Paulo participated in the 8th "Freedom and Art" International Piano Competition in Memory of Chopin and Liszt. After four rounds of fierce competition, he stood out among contestants from more than 20 countries and won the final award; in 2001, he won the only first prize from the Central Conservatory of Music. Zhang Xiaofeng is a young pianist. His footprints have spread all over the world, and his performances in the United States, Brazil, Germany, the Netherlands, France, Austria, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Harbin, Shenyang, Tianjin, Jinan, Yantai, Rizhao, Hangzhou and other places have received unanimous praise. In Beijing, he held many concerts at the Zhongshan Concert Hall, Beijing Concert Hall, National Palace Grand Theater, CCTV and participated in the New Year's Concert, all of which received unanimous praise.
In 2000, under the guidance of Professor Yang Jun, he recorded China's first VCD video of "Cherny 740 Etudes" and took on the most difficult part of the performance. In the same year, he recorded the Central Conservatory of Music Piano Performance of the authoritative DVD demonstration tape of the new grade-examination textbook, the highest grade nine repertoire.
After graduating from university in 2002, Zhang Xiaofeng was hired by the China Conservatory of Music as an exception and became a piano teacher and assistant to the subject director. In just four years, he used his solid foundation and outstanding performance to His talent has transformed several of his students into new generations with international standards. His student Xu Xiaopei won the fourth place and first place in the "Oberlin" International Piano Competition in the United States and the "Rising Star Art Festival" International Piano Competition in Russia in 2006 and 2007 respectively. Zhang Xiaofeng himself also won the title of "Excellent Teacher" awarded by the Russian "Rising Star Art Festival" International Piano Competition Organizing Committee.
