Tchaikovsky (184-1893), a great Russian composer. Tchaikovsky studied composition with A. Rubinstein in Petersburg Conservatory of Music from 1863 to 1865, and went to Moscow in 1866 as a professor of harmony in the newly-established Conservatory of Music. In his second year in Moscow, he composed the opera Commander. Tchaikovsky wrote six symphonies.

Introduction:

Tchaikovsky's ballet Swan Lake, with 4 acts, op.2, was written in 1876. This is Tchaikovsky's first dance music, which is based on folklore. The plot is: Princess Ogetta is turned into a white swan by the devil at the Swan Lake. Prince Siegfried visited Swan Lake and fell in love with Ogetta. On the night when the prince chose a bride, the devil made his daughter, the black swan, pretend to be Ogetta to deceive the prince. The prince was almost deceived, and finally found it in time, attacked the devil and culled it. The white swan restores the princess's original shape and combines with the prince to have a happy ending.
