In 1974, Shen Bingshan was already the champion and signature figure in Zhao'an chess circles, and later won the third place in blind chess competitions in ten provinces and cities including Beijing, Tianjin and Shanghai.
In "Hundred Flowers of Chess Game" published by People's Sports Publishing House in 1983, Shen Bingshan's self-named endgame "Double Offering of Wine" was seen. Similar classic chess and card games he created have been published by Chinese newspapers in Southeast Asia, Hong Kong and Taiwan, and several domestic media. In October 1991, he won third place in a blind chess competition participated in ten provinces and cities including Beijing, Shanghai, and Tianjin. In 1984, Shen Bingshan's dulcimer solo "Falling Water Lotus" won the second prize at the Fujian Provincial Disabled Persons' Art Performance; the ensemble piece "Dragon Spitting Pearls" won the second prize in the National Music Recording Competition for Disabled Persons.
In 1993, Shen Bingshan's folk music "Spring Comes to the World" won the Creation Excellence Award and the First Prize for Performance at the 4th Fujian Province Disabled Persons Art Performance.
