sonic CDs are divided into American and Japanese versions, and the biggest difference lies in the game music. The two versions use two completely different sets of music. The Japanese version is composed by Takashi Sasaki, and its theme songs are "Sonic-You Can Do Anything" and "Cosmic Eternity-Believe in Yourself" sung by Utoku Keiko. The theme song of the American version was written by Spencer Nilsen, and Pastiche sang "Sonic Boom". In order to match the theme song, the cutscenes were re-edited, and all the background music of the level was replaced. All subsequent redistributions will distinguish between the two. However, the development version of the American version of the game (called 712) actually contains the Japanese version of the game music, that is to say, the American version did not intend to replace these music.
In the transplanted version in p>211, players can switch between the American version and the Japanese version at will. However, due to copyright factors and the death of the lyricist, the Japanese version of the theme song became an instrumental version with no human voice.
