The School of Music of Shaanxi Normal University was formerly the music major of the Art Department of Shaanxi Normal University established in 1987. In 1998, the School of Art of Shaanxi Normal University was established, with a music department. In July 2005, the Music College of Shaanxi Normal University was established.
