The "surround" in the sound system is only relative to stereo. Its purpose is to assist the left and right channels to better restore the music and more accurately locate the playing positions of each instrument in the music.

The most commonly used ones are some blockbusters. When shooting, in order to better restore the sound and increase the audience's sense of presence, multi-channel recording is used.
